National Child Abuse Prevention Month is a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect, and to promote the social and emotional well-being of children and families. During the month of April and throughout the year, CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County strives to share child abuse and neglect prevention awareness strategies and activities and promote prevention across the country.


MEET JANIE…

TWO YEAR OLD JANIE was found barely alive, beaten by her own father, and placed into the care of Child Protective Services.  The judge appointed CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County to Janie’s case, and her CASA Advocate first laid eyes on Janie as she lay in a hospital bed, recovering.  Read more…


Be a Voice for Abused Children

Every year, countless children are abused and neglected by the ones they love and trust. It’s time for each of us to speak up for these children so that they may live safe, happy lives. Last year, 222 Texas children died from abuse and neglect. That means an innocent life was taken every 40 hours. April is a time for us to take a break from our busy schedules, acknowledge these children and say that their lives – and deaths – were not in vain.
