Event Speakers
Scott LePor, D.O.
Medical Director | Texas Juvenile Justice Department
Scott LePor is a family physician who resides in Austin, Texas. He is a husband, father, foster and adoptive parent. Through his experiences as a foster parent, Scott sought further training through Texas Christian University Institute of Child Development to help heal the life traumas of children from hard places with the evidence-based neuroscience of Trust-Based Relational Intervention®. The principles have proved to be so life-changing that Scott now shares this training through lectures and workshops to foster/adoptive parents as well as other health care professionals and various organizations and states. These principles also became the foundation for becoming Medical Director of Patient Experience and Physician Engagement at the hospital where he worked through building a culture centered around meeting the needs of others through trust-based relationships. Scott is currently the Medical Director of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department and is using the evidence-based neuroscience of interpersonal neurobiology to implement the “Texas Model” to their youth in need. Having a strong spiritual worldview has also been a driving force for his purpose and passion for helping those in need. Scott has also enjoyed sharing knowledge on various aspects of health in publications, podcasts, and social media.
Kimberly Glaudy, LMFT, MS
Family Therapist | Family Foundation Initiatives
Kimberly Glaudy is a resident of Houston, TX who has worked in youth and community development organizations for over 20 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and coupled that with a Master’s in Organizational Management and Leadership. Kimberly’s dedication to serving others led her to career opportunities working alongside homeless families, Somali refugees, children and youth in state custody, minor females who survived sex trafficking, as well as lay church members. In 2018, Kimberly joined the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. In this position, Kimberly taught Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) to service providers in various sectors throughout the United States and globally.
Today, Kimberly leads a therapeutic group practice dedicated to meeting the clinical needs of underserved populations and people of faith. When Kimberly is not providing therapy, training, or participating in public speaking engagements, she is making great memories with her wonderful husband or with one of her five dynamic adult children.
Lisa Broussard
Texas Model Director of Leadership Development | Texas Juvenile Justice Department
The Juvenile Justice Department’s Texas Model is a comprehensive approach to managing and improving the juvenile justice system. The purpose of the Model is to help youth increase their chances of success in life while also making our communities safer. In developing and refining the Texas Model, the TJJD uses science and evidence to find ways to reach the youth in its care.
Trauma-informed corrections is central to the vision of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. Every day in their facilities, they have interactions with youth that have the potential to end in violence or self-harm. TJJD’s goal is always to provide the best possible outcome, but too often, past treatment options overlooked the underlying cause of a youth’s behavior, in particular a history of childhood trauma.
