  • Check-in begins at 7:30 am.
  • Program and sessions are scheduled from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. You will receive 8 hours of continuing education credit for attending this training.

The training will be a great opportunity to learn new things and connect with your fellow Advocates. The training will cover many different topics, will feature exceptional guest speakers, and deliver lots of practical information! This content will be well worth your time.

We have a fantastic group of speakers lined up, including:

  • The Chief Montgomery County Attorney for CPS, Sarah Stahlberg – Sarah will bring everyone up to date on the new court structure and how that will impact our Advocacy. She is also going to talk about how Advocates can best represent their cases in court.
  • Rebecca Smith, a therapist from the Counseling Center of Montgomery County will speak about having adversarial conversations and also strategies for talking with children.
  • Tri-County Mental Health is coming to talk about trends in substance use in our county and its impact on both the children and families we serve.
  • And more!

Bring your energy and your enthusiasm! It is going to be a great day!

This training is mandatory. If you DO NOT attend this conference, you will need to come into the office and watch the video with your CASA Supervisor at designated times (TBD at a later date.)
