The GIFT Project: Guiding Infants, Families & Toddlers: Best Practice Advocacy

Currently, over 50% of the children we serve are between the ages of 0 and 5 years old. There are a growing number of teen mothers and young adults who are not equipped to handle the demands of being a parent. Our mothers and fathers often struggle with mental health issues, chemical dependency, and poverty. It is also likely that they themselves have suffered from the trauma of abuse.

In an effort to better serve this vulnerable segment of our population, we are initiating “GIFT” (Guiding Infants, Families & Toddlers)…a proactive program designed to increase knowledge and awareness of the unique needs of infants, families and toddlers; provide resources to support reunification where possible; assure that support and services are delivered in an appropriate and timely manner; and ultimately break the cycle of abuse.

The key to accomplishing this goal rests in the education and support of our Advocates, who represent the best interest of these children in care and act as their voice in court.

The next GIFT Training will be on Wednesday, October 31st from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Space is limited to the first 10 to sign up, so RESERVE YOUR SEAT NOW! Questions? Please email Gwen@CASASpeaks4Kids.com.

Sincerely,
