Meet John, a CASA Child Advocates Volunteer

Thinking of volunteering to become a CASA Advocate? Just found out about CASA and what to learn more about what we do?

Advocates play an important role in helping abused and neglected child in need by providing them with a voice and looking out for their best interests. Often, CASA volunteers say they started out believing they had something to give back, but found they received so much more from the children they served.

We receive many questions about what it’s like to be a CASA Advocate. Many about what CASA does; what our volunteers do. To better answer these questions, we created a short video following an imaginary volunteer, John, who just signed up. We’ll follow him from the very beginning of his CASA journey.

We hope this answers many of your preliminary questions. Of course, we are always here to answer any questions you have about becoming an Advocate. Feel free to contact us any time, and we’ll get back to you shortly. There is so much more that happens in an Advocate’s year than this short video can capture, but we hope it helps you better understand what the role of a CASA volunteer looks like!
