CASA Introduces New Collaborative Family Engagement Team
CASA Child Advocates of Montgomery County has a new Collaborative Family Engagement Team.
Meet the Team
Case Supervisor, Jenn Engel has taken the lead role to work alongside our CASA Supervisors and their Advocate teams in implementing Collaborative Family Engagement tools into their casework and family meetings. Also, she will be co-facilitating family meetings and reporting Collaborative Family Engagement tools utilized in Montgomery County to Texas CASA. Case Supervisor, Destin Hudek has taken the lead role in conducting our family searches through social media, Internet searches and Seneca Searches. Advocacy Manager, Mandy Stegint is also on the Collaborative Famly Engagement team to assist with co-facilitating family meetings.
Our Goal
Our goal is to implement Collaborative Family Engagement tools on 100% of our cases to empower the families we serve to have a voice during the duration of the case and to become self-sufficient when CPS, CASA, and attorneys are no longer a part of their lives. It is our duty as a child’s Guardian Ad Litem to make all efforts to locate family or friends who are willing to be a support for the child while they are under CPS care; especially our teens.
Upcoming Workshops
Visit our events calendar to sign up for upcoming Collaborative Family Engagement Tools Workshops.
During these workshops, we will focus on the main Collaborative Family Engagement tools:
- My Three Houses
- Connectedness Map
- Mobility Map
This will be a great opportunity for Advocates to refresh on Collaborative Family Engagement and feel more comfortable using these tools in their case work.
CFE Tool Guidebooks
There are Collaborative Family Engagement tool guidebooks available at the CASA office. You can also download a guidebook here: http://bit.ly/CFE_Pocket_Guide_PDF.
