TEA and School District Updates: 2020-2021 School Year

The Texas Education Agency has provided all school districts in the state of Texas with some general guidelines for opening schools. Much leeway has been given to local districts in beginning the school year based on their county health guidelines. If you are wondering how the opening of school may look for your CASA child, I have included some local districts’ websites, the date of the first day of school and what platform the school will commence, whether it be online or person to person. If you have concerns about your CASA child not having the tools for remote learning, please explore the website as all districts should present information regarding accessing the necessary tools and portals for online learning. In addition, all special education students are required to meet the time allocations as presented on their IEPs, so be sure to check with the Special Education department of the child’s district if you feel these time requirements are not being met.
