What is The CASA Volunteer Council?

Whether you are an Advocate looking to connect with other Advocates or a volunteer who has a heart for CASA and our mission, we’ve got a place for you!  We are always looking for volunteers to help with projects that benefit our CASA children and those working with them throughout the year.  Here are some of the things we do:

Community Activities & Events—There are many ways we get involved in caring for our CASA kids and their caregivers—Christmas party, Bike Rodeo are two of those events.  We are also involved in raising awareness of CASA and our mission—Adoption Day and working at the Waterway Arts Festival are a couple of examples.

CPS Appreciation Party—Every fall we provide a themed lunch and an hour away from their daily work to let our caseworkers and other CPS staff know that they are appreciated by CASA.  Anyone willing to help with the planning or by donating door prizes is welcome!

Recognition Event for CASA Staff—We want to let our supervisors and all the CASA staff know just how much we love them!  Last year featured a potluck lunch with gifts and personalized notes for each supervisor from their Advocates.

Advocate Support Groups—This is an opportunity for Advocates to get together in an informal setting to connect with each other and to discuss topics.  We are always looking for someone willing to host small groups in their homes; we alternate morning and evening times.
